My name is Tom Gissel and I am a Senior Software Engineer at IBM. I am currently a member of the WebSphere Technology Institute, WSTI, where I research new technologies, assess their applicability to IBM’s products and facilitate moving the research from idea to reality. This research has lead to the creation of new products such as WebSphere Extended Deployment where I was the original technical lead for the Dynamic Cluster and Dynamic Workload Management components. Prior to working in the WSTI, I spent three years as the technical lead for the WebSphere Execution Team where I lead a SWAT team in debugging IBM’s largest customers most critical problems.
